It is a common complaint from those who are battling inflammatory fat, “I am overweight”. “I am increasingly concerned that society may be normalizing overweight,” she wrote, citing: “larger mannequins are being introduced into clothes shops; 'size inflation' means that clothes with the same size label have become larger in recent decades; and news stories about overweight often feature pictures of severely obese people, which are unrepresentative of the majority of the overweight population.”
The medical examiner claim that larger size clothes and mannequins contribute to obesity is both silly and insensitive. For over 60 years the fashion industry has forced women to fit into sizes so small that they have learned to hate their natural curves. It is true that we are in an obesity crisis but larger mannequins do not promote obesity; they simply offer women of larger sizes clothes for their bodies.
